This workshop will explain the process of making and using a social media plan to provide dynamic information services. A social media account is a product, not merely a communication channel. A social media plan defines that product, whom it serves (its target market), and what standards it follows for consistency and quality. Creating engaging, relevant, and purposeful content can be challenging; but with a plan and some practice, your library can reach your patrons where they are with helpful information and grow your connection with them. Categorized content examples, a controlled vocabulary of hashtags, free design software, and free meme generators can make content creation and organization easier. Attend this workshop to see how the Arizona Christian University Library has developed and used its social media plan and free tools to establish an Instagram account offering library news, tips, book recommendations, and spiritual support. Attendees will learn the basics of making a marketing plan for social media and strategies for creating and organizing user-centered social media content. This workshop ties in with marketing, outreach, administration, public services, and information services.Item Open Access Item Open Access Childers's "Another Gospel?: A Lifelong Christian Seeks Truth in Response to Progressive Christianity" (Book Review)(2023-04-13) Oliverio, RobertItem Open Access Building a Winning Library Team with Transformational Leadership: Inspiring, Empowering, and Challenging Staff(2017-10-27) Oliverio, RobertDefines transformational leadership, describes its benefits and drawbacks, and provides a case study of its application at the Arizona Christian University Library.Item Open Access Strategic Planning for Academic Libraries(2022-05-13) Oliverio, RobertDescribes the benefits, process, and results of strategic planning in the context of academic libraries and uses the Arizona Christian University Library as a case study.Item Open Access Seven Best Practices for Doing Inventory(2022-06-13) Oliverio, RobertDoing inventory for a library can be a challenging task, especially if it has not been done for a long time. These seven best practices can help library administrators to manage a successful inventory project. First, read the user manual for your system. Second, get the right equipment. Third, try a test run. Fourth, discuss the project. Fifth, identify which parts of the collection will be included. Sixth, scan a few sections at a time, a specified range. Seventh, review the results and clean up records. Examples from the Arizona Christian University Library illustrate these best practices.
